This is an interesting story, which I think everyone should know about. It goes something like this:
There was once a boy who was very hot tempered. He lost his temper easily at everyone around him. His father, seeing that a lesson needs to be taught, approached his son.
The father passed his son a wooden plank, a hammer and some iron nails. He told his son, "For a week, I want you to hammer an iron nail into the wooden plank every time you lose your temper at someone."
At the end of the week, the father approached his son. He saw that the plank was filled with iron nails. He then instructed his son, "From today onwards, I want you to apologise to everyone you lost your temper at, and remove a nail from the plank only when they have forgiven you."
After 3 whole weeks, the son finally approached his father with a plank without any nails. Everyone he lost his temper at had forgiven him. However, his father asked the son to take a look at the wooden plank. Though the nails were gone, there were many holes all over the plank.
Moral of the story: After you have lost your temper at someone, no matter how much you do to make it up to the person, the damage done is irreversible.
Hope this story has been meaningful to all of you as it has been to me.
