1st day of work, and it isn't exactly a bed of roses. I reached the office at 8 am, when work was supposed to start at 9 am. Oh well, at least i get paid a measly 3 bucks per hour. so i earned 3 bucks while waiting for the company to open. Then after i got in and completed the procedures, the HR person showed me to my table. No computer, nice... So i waited for the IT dept to bring my laptop/computer down for me. Waited till around 10, then my supervisor who is called Sunday by the way, brought me to a meeting room where there was a com set up already for me to use. So i happily settled in, turn on my MSN, changed some settings etc. Just when I was getting all comfy, the IT guy came in and said there was a com free, just behind the desk I was at right from the start!!! So I shifted back to the same area. By this time, it was already close to 11 am. Nice, earned 9 bucks already! Then used MSN to chat a while, lunch time. 12 bucks and counting!
Lunch was definitely a depressing experience for me. After so many years of meals with DU, I think I am already used to having meals with big groups of people, or at least with someone! But guess that's how 1st days are always like. No friends, so I ate lunch alone. Felt so sad. I just da bao-ed mac and brought back to an empty office to eat.
After that, I was assigned some reports to familiarise myself with how the company works. So the next few hours were spent staring at the screen and a sea of numbers. Damn my job is boring...
