So here goes the story. One day, 3 people were walking around looking for dinner. As they walked around, they came across this shop. For easy referencing, I shall name these 3 people VV, A and B. So A saw that this shop sold wine and wine accessories. Being the "alcoholic" that he was, he decided to go check out the wines and accessories. While he was squatting down checking on the wines, he suddenly heard a commotion from where VV and B were. Note that the shop at this time was completely empty and that the salesgirl was near A. Upon hearing the commotion, the salesgirl went over, and A being the curious A also went over to take a look.
When he reached their side, he saw what was the commotion about immediately. There on the table was a cyan ceramic pear ornament. However, it's stalk was no where in sight. Clearly, someone had broken it, and from the looks of their faces it was obvious it was VV who broke it. So here's how she did it. Everyone knows that pears are generally heavier at the bottom, and get lighter as it goes up right? But our dear VV might have fell asleep during that lesson. She held on to the tip of the stem, and attempted to lift the pear up. What in the world were you thinking?! You hold the weakest part of the ornament, and expect it to hold??? Haha.
The salesgirl was still being very nice about it, and not making a big fuss. So VV happily thought she didn't need to pay till the salesgirl told her. It cost 48 RMB, but the salesgirl was nice enough to give her a discount! Way to go VV! You managed to get a discount in an upmarket department store. Nice...
As we awaited the salesgirl to get the bill, we started talking to her about the origins of the pear. Apparently, the pear was a new product which the shop just brought in, and that there was only one in stock. Also, out of the whole shop, there were only 2 ornaments, and our VV broke one of them. Great choice of thing to break by the way. But the whole incident was one of laughter rather than tears. In the end all 3 of us had a great time laughing about the incident, and VV now has a cyan ceramic pear which looks pretty good to be honest. So all's well that ends well.
Now some of you may be thinking. What about the vacation? Well, VV's brain was on a vacation. Haha.
